Swimming with the Mermaids

Aloha All,

Since this summer has been so hot and humid interspersed with torrential rainfall I thought it would be nice to feature these Mermaids by Sandra Vargas, a newer designer with fantastic ideas.

I just finished receiving the  Mystery Class Stitch guide & fibers for Aquamarine, and I can guarantee you she is stunning.  My thoughts that having her sister mermaid Coraleen would be fun and neat framed together in a funky frame.  Since the colors are different the framing would need to be a little different to pull it together, how about a swirly silver metallic frame 🙂  Ok I am going a little off course.  I wanted to say that you could also have a similar background stitch design like the one charted below, well sort of, Yikes

I just loved this stitch and by leaving the interior open it would allow the background to show through.  You could also just use the same stitch, put sequins on Coraleen’s fin then come up with something sparkly for her tail.  I am sure your wheels are spinning now thinking of all you could do.

That is all I had for today, a fun stitch and mermaids.  Also I have to welcome the newest “Prince” to arrive today, congratulations, this little boy is now third in line to the throne in England.

  4. Arrgh, Sheena! You just had to feature another mermaid. I haven’t finished Aquamarine, and now Coraleen will haunt my thoughts. She is beautiful, isn’t she? And oh, the ribbons we could use to create the flower in her hair!
