Reader Showcase

A monthly feature celebrating stitched canvases from readers who have used one of Sheena's hand-charted stitch diagrams. Each entry pairs the finished canvas with the stitch that inspired it.

How It Works

Every month, readers are invited to share photos of their completed needlepoint canvases that feature a stitch from the Stitch Diagrams library. Selected submissions appear here alongside the original diagram, so fellow stitchers can see how each stitch looks worked into a real project.

Whether you've stitched a single motif or an entire canvas using one of Sheena's charted stitches, your work can inspire others. The showcase highlights the creativity and skill within the stitching community — one diagram at a time.

The Reader Showcase is a heartfelt celebration of the needlepoint community that gathers around Sheena's stitch diagrams. Each month, stitchers from all walks of life share photographs of their finished canvases, revealing how a single charted stitch can take on a completely different personality depending on the thread, canvas, and hands that bring it to life. Seeing these completed works side by side with the original diagrams offers a wonderful learning opportunity, showing how the same stitch can be scaled, repeated, or combined with others to create entirely new textures and effects across a variety of needlepoint projects.

For many readers, the showcase is more than just a gallery of finished work; it is a source of inspiration and encouragement. Browsing through past submissions reveals the remarkable range of creativity within the stitching community, from delicate ornaments and festive decorations to bold geometric canvases and cozy home accents. Each entry tells a small story of patience, skill, and joy, and seeing how other stitchers have interpreted the diagrams often sparks fresh ideas for one's own next project. It is a gentle reminder that needlepoint is as much about connection and shared passion as it is about the finished piece.

Participating in the showcase is a wonderful way to become part of a supportive circle of fellow needle artists. Whether you are a longtime stitcher or relatively new to the craft, sharing your completed canvas offers a chance to inspire others while receiving recognition for your hard work. The monthly rotation keeps the gallery feeling fresh and lively, and there is always something new to discover with each visit. For anyone who has ever wondered how a particular stitch works in practice, this collection of real projects serves as both a practical reference and a warm invitation to pick up a needle and join in.
